Cheviot Hills is an affluent neighborhood of predominately single-family homes on the Westside of Los Angeles, California. Flanked by Century City on its northern boundary, on the east by Beverlywood and Castle Heights, on the south by Palms, on the west by Rancho Park and on the northwest by West Los Angeles. The Cheviot Hills neighborhood commands stunning views where its lush, gently rolling landscape juxtaposes with the adjoining city skyline.
Founded in 1924, the neighborhood has been the filming location of countless movies and television shows due to its convenient location between Fox Studios and Sony Studios. The home used in ABC TV's hit show, Modern Family, is located within the community. The neighborhood also serves as home to many actors, television personalities, and studio executives.
Once a single Spanish land grant, most of its single-family homes were built in the 1940s and early 1950s, largely in a traditional style.The neighborhood features homes by prominent architects, such as the Strauss-Lewis House by Raphael Soriano and the Harry Culver Estate, designed by Wallace Neff.
